If you’ve borrowed a tool, you’ve probably met one of our volunteers!
We have many incredible people who help make this project possible. Want to get involved? You don't have to know everything, you just have to love being a part of our community! Keep reading below for more information about ways to get involved.
Volunteer librarians do not need to have experience with tools or construction, but should be passionate about our mission and values. Volunteer librarians interact with members at the front desk, helping with tool check outs, renewals, class registration and membership questions. We strive to create an inclusive space that is welcoming to people of all backgrounds and skill levels.
Volunteer librarians are asked to attend periodic volunteer meetings to coordinate our efforts and improve operations.
Tool Fixers work independently or in community with other fixers to diagnose and repair our tools! If you have experience with electronics, machinery, or just taking things apart and fixing ‘em, we need you! Help keep our inventory in tip-top shape.
We are always looking for help at our open houses, lectures and happy hours! No experience is necessary, you just need a can-do attitude! This is a great option for folks who want to help out, but can’t commit to a regular volunteer shift.
Are you great at taking things apart? Have some experience with woodworking, sewing, or electronics? We need your help! We try to hold a Repair Cafe quarterly, a free event where anyone can bring in broken furniture, small appliances, bikes, clothing, etc. and get help with repairs!
Have an idea that you think would make a great class? Want to share your knowledge on how to fix leaky faucets? We hope to host classes in home care and repair, crafts, etc. and need teachers.
Help us reach out to the community!
Help us find and coordinate volunteers to keep the Makerspace going.
Just because it isn't listed doesn't mean we don't need it! Shoot us a message and let us know how you'd like to contribute!
